Awesome.
Blimey is Rick Piper still making FS models? I think he made a good B732 model back about 10yrs ago along with I think the HS748?

It was not finished, the 2D cockpit is of the default Robinson R22, the VC one didn't work. I deleted the interior.mdl file and made my own 2d cockpit (using the VC cockpit forward panel, converted) OK it isn't 100% accurate (uses default R22 and Bell 206 gauges - but it flies like a dream!

A playback from wayback, hey? Very nice countryside, too. Were you in a similar chopper?

No, the Sycamore was before my time, its a type I have never seen but knew of. I've been to the I.O.W several times, (all by Hovercraft) and always made a beeline for Bembridge. Incidentally, the Bembridge Airport you see below is an addon by Alf Denham - the default version is a LITTLE sparse.

Not really, when I was young back in the 1970's, my parents used to go on holiday to Hayling Island (nr Portsmouth) year in and year out. RAF Thorney Island was very near to there, and used to have a SAR flight of Westland Whirlwind (at first) quickly replaced by the Westland Wessex.
The only open day they had, (to my knowledge), the Sycamore was mentioned by the commentator and in model form in one of the indoor displays in one of the hangars.

I guess it's what you might call a "rare bird"!

There is one flying in Germany I believe and the rest are in museums over here, and Australia.
