Intrepid Class Cutaway by IanKeenan Intrepid Class Cutaway by IanKeenan
Star Trek: Canon Universe Starship Cutaway #6.

The Intrepid Class Light Explorer from Star Trek: Voyager, and also seen in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges". Illustrated here of course is the USS Voyager NCC-74656.

Not all my own work, yet another scanned in from my battered "Star Trek Fact Files" which were trashed after a water leak at my home!
Again like the other cutaways, the worst part was eliminating the page creases, which in this case were only visible at the rear of the vessel.

Revised background, use Download to view full size.

Very nice!

While I did not care for the series, I really liked the design of Voyager with one exception.  I always thought that the folding warp engines were really dumb looking.

It's not the first time though as far as I'm aware. In generations the enterprise b had half the staff missing, no wepons and no tractor beam. I wonder what else they didn't have.

Enterprises have a knack of being called into situations before she's ready to go out, for example when The Enterprise was finished the Massive overhaul, she was immediately ordered to intercept V'Ger, When The Enterprise-A was sent to Nimbus III It was to quote Scotty "in shambles and had less then a skeleton crew aboard." But the Enterprise always managed to get the job done no Matter what.

Yeah I remember that, the old story of "it had to be launched on time - even if they had to get out and push it"!!!

Either the episode writers wern't aware of these items or they made an official foul up

I think it was in the original plans but (like the Aeroshuttle) it wasn't acknowleged until AFTER the show had finished!

Hang on 2 warp cores! They never mentioned that in the show

I was shocked too when I saw that! But it IS official, in the same way the Aeroshuttle is part of the design, but we NEVER saw it in action!

Actually didn't the Aeroshuttle appear in the episode where Tom Broke Warp 10?

Nope, that was a beefed-up Type 9 shuttlecraft.

I allways assumed they took the second warp core apart and used it as spair parts for the main one, and then the Aeroshuttle was used to make the Delta Flyer... But I allways thought that the Forward Warp Core was the Primary one...

According to Doug Drexler, the Aeroshuttle WAS NOT fitted until AFTER Voyager got back to the Alpha quadrant, it wasn't "Ready in time"!

The REAR warp core was supposed to be the main one (closeness to the warp engines) the secondary core was NOT operational until moved into place!

Why dose Starfleet insist on sending out incompleet ships...

Er...I think it comes about due to budget limitations, and dramatic "artistic license" i.e. the scriptwriters are a bunch of idiots who didn't look at the technical details first!!
